Business Process Decomposition and Exception Handling

/02 About
Operational process activities, accountable handoffs, authorization branches, information artifacts, exceptions and value verification.
Purpose: decompose an end-to-end business process into owned activities, typed events, decision outcomes, information inputs/outputs and compensating exception paths. A capability expresses what the organization can accomplish; the process specifies how work is performed. Execution: request capture leads to eligibility evaluation and an authorized commitment decision. Only approved scope proceeds to fulfillment. Denied and deferred requests have explicit remediation routes, and a nonconforming delivery can trigger a new validation cycle. Design obligations: assign accountable approval authorities, version business rules, define precise response times, case state semantics, legal handling constraints, compensations and acceptance evidence. This original model is implementation-neutral and does not prescribe an executable workflow engine.
