/02 About

Events from devices and applications flow through a streaming platform into stateful processors, real-time stores, alerts and an archive.

Continuous streams of events are processed as they arrive: enriched, aggregated over time windows and checked against rules, with results available in seconds and the raw stream archived for later analysis. When to use: monitoring, fraud and anomaly detection, live operational dashboards, telemetry from devices, and personalisation that must react immediately. Trade-offs: answers in seconds instead of hours; in exchange, stateful processing, late and duplicate events, and exactly-once guarantees add real complexity. Keep the archive so results can be recomputed.
